October 6, 2011 Candlelight Vigil sponsored by Southside Center for Violence Prevention, Inc. 7pm Seay Park, Blackstone, VA. Chesterfield

October 15, 2011 5K Domestic Violence Memorial Walk-A-Thon sponsored by Chesterfield County Domestic Vioelnce and Sexual Violence Resource Center and the Chesterfield County Domestic Violence Task Force. Memorial fundraiser to Honor Victims of Domestic Violence and Police Officers Who Lost Their Lives in the Line of Duty When Responding to Domestic Violence Incidents. Meadowbrook High School Track, 4901 Cogbill Road, Richmond, VA 23234 9am-1pm. Rain Date: October 22, 2011 There will be a $10 Registation Fee. Hanover

October 1, 2011 Hanover Safe Place will host its 13th Annual Pumpkin Run, the Pumpkin Run is a 5k trail run through the pumpkin patches. Participants can choose from the following events: 5k run, 5k walk, or 1 mile fun walk. The event will also include a visit from Kicker-roo, mascot for the Richmond Kickers, as well as vendors (such as Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, and premier Designs Jewelry). Included in the Kid's Fun Area this year will be face painting, popcorn, sno-cones and more! Registration opens on August 1st! October 16 - October 22, 2011 Henrico Police Department will place purple ribbons on their police vehicles in observation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 24, 2011 Hanover Safe Place will host its annual Candlelight Ceremony in the Brown Campus Center, at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland. Our keynote speaker will be Susheela Varky of Virginia Poverty Law Center. The Ceremony will begin at 6:30pm. We will honor victims and survivors of domestic violence in this ceremony.

Newport News

October 6, 2011 8am-9am Breakfast of Champions Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to support intervention and prevention services for survivors of domestic violence and their families.
